I am a long time Fido/Rogers customer (over 10 years) and have signed multiple contracts with them. (Actually, I just signed a new 3 year contract less than 6-8 months ago).
Fido / Rogers will not sell the iphone to it's existing clients if they can't renew their contract.
In essence they are penalizing existing customers who are willing to pay FULL price for the phone just because they can't sign a new contract. New customers however can buy up to 2 phones.
They report that they can't sell to existing customers due to shortage and they may change this in the future and to 'check their website occasionally' for details.
I see this as a grave injustice and disloyalty to their current clientele. I'd like to take this opportunity to say F-you Fido & Rogers. Thanks for nothing!!!
I suppose my next step is to buy a used one from Craigslist & switch providers at the end of my contract.
I too am an exiting Fido/Rogers customer. I have been with Fido for over 7 years now and also had several contracts with them so far. Most recently, I renewed my contract a few months ago not knowing that had I stayed on a monthly plan without a contract, I could have had the iphone by now. I also feel betrayed by Fido and penalized for renewing my contract. They didnt treat me as loyal as I have been to them. Let alone that their plans are a rip off compared to the states and europe. They are absolutely F-d up and have definitely lost another customer.
