Trying out Veggie Patch Meatless Buffalo Wings tonight!
Grade: B
They are all natural ingredients and 100% vegetarian (actually they DO contain eggs & milk products) so more like lacto-ovo. They're cholesterol, msg, artifical preservative free. This makes me feel like I'm getting some decent food into me.. but I can't shake the feeling that I'm still just eating breaded chicken. It's that grainy brown deep fried look on the cover that's throwing me off. Can that really be good for you? Probably not but it tastes good.

Tried a new meatless veggie hot dog yesterday!
Grade: B
Veggie Patch Jalapeño & Cheese and also Spiced Apple
We bought them at the local Save-on-Foods here in Vancouver. Veggie dogs pretty much all seem to taste the same and are remarkable similar in texture to the real thing. They just lack the greasy factor and the crispy skin they usually get from grilling. The Jalapeño & Cheddar however is very unique because of the bits of oozy cheese and Jalapeño throughout. It makes a nice change from the spongy orange and pink look of standard vegetarian hot dogs.

Up until a month ago you could buy Gardein (or Garden) vegetarian protein cutlets at Costco downtown Vancouver. They only had the mock chicken strips ( Gardein™ Chicken & Beefs are a meatless product made entirely from vegetable sources) but those strips are better than nothing!
My life is better with Gardein Chicken. I put it in salads, in pasta, in sandwiches, in pita's, in stir fies, in curries.. in EVERYTHING. It made my life easier nutritionally and taste-wise.

MAKE THE PERFECT VEGETARIAN BURGER FOR:
- Chilling in front of the TV wtih your favorite show (american idol?)
- Preparing a dinner for your beloved vegetarian wife
- Summer BBQ party
- Men's birthday dinner
Try this easy vegetarian burger dressing style. Even the least chef savvy of us can manage this one. Simple, tasty, healthy and impressive!
I am going to go ahead and assume you've selected a decent veggie burger for this.
I'm probably wrong. You probably have one of those crap patties (you know, the ones that look like their made from soggy rice and pulses). It is REALLY, REALLY important that you have a good, thick, juicy, meat-esque patty. Don't know which kind to buy? Check out my earlier post on Licks Nature Burgers here. If you can't get Licks then try and find something that at least LOOKS like meat and not cardboard.
