I hear what you're saying. I had to stop working out due to a cycling crash. The combination of being confined to the couch and continuing to eat like I was during training made me gain over 10 lbs. (over a 1 month period)

When I was able to train again, I really had to consciously make an effort to eat more often and eat smaller portions to help lose that extra weight. I had to re-train my metabolism to go go go...

WOW - I'm glad to hear you recovered from the crash as my husband has done the exact same thing (6 ribs and a punctured lung from cycling). I guess there is no way around it.. the same discipline that gets us trained is what will have to kick in for me to maintain a healthy weight!
