Aviano :: A classic
![]()
Aviano font strikes me as a beauty and a rarity. It says to me; influence, meaningful, momentous and high profile. It must be those serifs. I'm always attracted to R's, K's and Q's decenders that do the swooshy thing. They give the words a nice graphical element.
You can buy this font here: Aviano.
I can imagine the Aviano Typeface being used for:
- Mining Materials
- Residential Real Estate
- Political or Biographical Book Covers
- Product Ads for Watches, Cigars, Cars ect.
- Men's Magazine Masthead
ONLY downfall is that you could only really use this for one or two words at a time. A lot of typographic play is needed to make it look smokin' hot but it just has that vibe of an importance, non?
Blurb from the designer / foundry, Jeremy Dooley:
Aviano is an extended titling face with influence from the power and timeless beauty of classical letterforms.
Aviano features extended characters for a formal feel, sharp, powerful looking serifs and geometric and consistent letterforms.
Use Aviano as an alternative to Trajan. Aviano is named for a small town at the base of the Alps in northern Italy.
